Hi ,

I am currently using on-premise business central APIs. I am able to access it inside the particular server. However the port which is being used in API URL needs to be accessed outside of the server. i.e., those who have username and password should be able to access it. How make port open?

Thanks

    Hello Rajaneesh,

For the On-premise, we need to Open the port to access API from outside the server.

Open the port from "Firewall" and check.
If it's Azure then Open the port from network.

    Open firewall ports in Windows.
You can manually permit a program to access the internet by opening a firewall port. You will need to know what port it uses and the protocol to make this work.

    1. Navigate to Control Panel, System and Security, and Windows Firewall.
    2. Select Advanced settings and highlight Inbound Rules in the left pane.
    3. Right-click Inbound Rules and select New Rule.
    4. Add the port you need to open and click Next.
    5. Add the protocol (TCP or UDP) and the port number into the next window and click Next.
    6. Select Allow the connection in the next window and hit Next.
    7. Select the network type as you see fit and click Next.
    8. Name the rule something meaningful and click Finish.

    Hi @Judy,

Thanks for the time and effort. However I have done these all steps. My question is that I am able to access it inside the particular server. However the port which is being used in API URL needs to be accessed outside of the server. i.e., those who have username and password should be able to access it. How make port open?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Sir,

Business Central exposes an API that makes it possible to integrate with other services. To enable integration with these APIs, you must go through a few steps to enable APIs in Business Central.
Once you have the API access enabled, you can write code that integrates your web service or SaaS solution with Business Central.

    Best Regards,
    Judy
