Dear Community,

Our problem:
We have a transfer order that is already in the shipped status. When we receive it, we get the error:

Line number: 2,00
Receive now exceeds the remaining receive quantity and cannot be committed.
Update has been canceled.

This is a strange error (to me) because the error speaks of /Line 2/ and there is only one line on the Transfer order. This item is an item with a batch number. The batch number and location were deleted by a user from this line (assumption). Also the picklist is completed with quantity 5.

Our business Impact:
A) The stock is stuck/reserved in a Transit warehouse now.
B) The stock cannot be used.
C) The stock shows incorrect numbers for demand calculation for MRP
D) The stock and the open order make the reporting data unreliable

What have we tried:
-Searching on the internet and this community for this error. I did not find any results.
-Searching on Microsoft Issue search. I did not find any results.
-Confirmed the
-I tried to unpick the pick list, but that is not allowed, because it is already shipped.
-I thought I could change the under delivery, but that is grey/cannot be changed. Because the order I already shipped.

Does someone have any idea's on how to approach this situation, to eliminate the issues described under business impact somehow?

Hi Dennis,

The transfer order could have initially been another line that got deleted. Then the field Line number can have a value of 2 for sure. It is referring to a field value, not a second line on the grid itself.

The current order line shows that 5 has been shipped and 4 received. So, it looks like you only have 1 quantity left for receiving. What quantity did you try to receive?

EDIT: You were also right about the line number. It has 1 line and the line number is 2. Thanks :)

Hi Dennis,

The transfer order has a Transfer quantity of 1 instead of 5. I'm not sure if this is related. If you can reproduce this error in a non-production environment, a developer would be able to use the debugger to find the culprit.
