Biztalk and AX

Hi:

Background: We are considering using Microsoft BizTalk to be the tool for Systems and Solutions interfaces with Microsoft Dynamic AX. Dynamic AX out of the box uses Biztalk for standard EDI. Our goal is to expand BizTalk for all other systems mapping, schema, orchestration, information bus, etc. and Dynamic AX interfaces.

Question: In your experience, do you know a company / ies that implemented and using BizTalk and Dynamic AX in addition to EDI? Preferably close to Portland Oregon.

Appreciate your thoughts and inputs.

This is exactingly  what I am planning to do because I know that BizTalk is robust and flexible , I want to use BizTalk to map everything. But , I am Now at the point where I wonder if you really need BizTalk  , if you can use WCF to build the communication  between DAX and a the 3rd Party application.
