We have been using Dynamics since 1999 and have never cleared any data and the number of transactions is currently very high. Can anyone direct me to where I can get information on how to clear historical data to shrink the size of the database. If possible, I would like to somehow archive the data for future access. We are currently using Microsoft Dynamics GP version 8.

You can create another company in Great Plains and call it Archive company. Do a backup and restore into the database for archive data. You can remove data from the utilities functions inside GP. Also, there is a third party application that allows you to continually archive data. Their website is http://www.profad.com/.
