Install updates over multiple servers

Posted on by 415

Hi,

I'm about to install 8.2.7 over two front end servers (and ofcourse a SQL). I'd like to keep downtime as limited as possible. Can I run the update jobs on all three servers at the same time or should I do this one at a time?

thanks!
Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,

You should update one at a time. The reason behind this is that after the server upgrade is finished, the setup attempts to update also the CRM Organizations. Not sure if all setups start upgrading the same CRM Organization at the same time wouldn't lead to any issues.

After you upgrade server FE Server 1 together with the CRM Organization you can bring it back online and take out from the NLB FE2 and upgrade it independently. Once FE2 is also upgraded you can add it back to the NLB.

    Regards,

    Radu
