Server Side Synchronization Issue

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

We have been having an odd issue with Server Side Synchronization in CRM (version 8.2.2.112), the emails are synchronized from a central on-premise Exchange mailbox to a queue and are deleted after processing. The issue is that not all of the emails are pulled in straight away or at all.

We've noted this https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn832121.aspx, which indicates the synchronization rate is variable depending on the mailbox however we have seen some emails take over night to become activities in CRM, even though the mailbox receives emails fairly regularly 24/7, and some just stuck in mailbox and never make it into CRM. Secondly not all of the emails are deleted which indicates that they are not being processed, this is likely a side effect of the emails not being pulled through.

The consistency of emails going into CRM seems to improve when both the mailbox and queue are watched and refreshed regularly.

There aren't errors in the system logs in our Dynamics 365 CRM or Exchange server.

Is anyone able to advise a solution to this?
