Deploying Managed Web Content Error

(1) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

I have a Web Form in the Web->Web Content->Managed node that I am trying to Deploy to EP. It gives the following error message:

Server was unable to process request. ---> Setup encountered an error during deployment of the Role Center and Enterprise Portal framework.

I have checked that the user that is attempting the deploy has full control permissions on the EP, restarted the AOT, removed and re-added permissions, and ran the Dynamics client as administrator.

We are not able to deploy any of our pages as a result of this error and do not know how to fix it.

Any help resolving this issue is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Matt,

Can you try to find some events in the Windows Event Viewer on the AOS and IIS machine?

The only recent event logs I could find says:

"An exception occurred while enqueueing a message in the target queue. Error:15517, State 1. Cannot execute as the database principle because the principle "dbo" does not exist, the type of principle cannot be impersonated, or you do not have permission."

I'm not sure if this event is relevant, but that's the only one I could find that has occurred today when the deployment issue started.

    Hi Matt

Have you tried to restart IIS?

    Hey Denis,

We have restarted IIS a few times and unfortunately, the issue persists.

    Hi Matt,

I have not seen this message before, so I can't tell if this is related. If it is related, there could be an issue related to SQL permissions. You checked the events on all related servers?

What exactly are you trying to deploy? The objects under the Web -> Web Content -> Managed node in AOT are the definitions of the web controls (.ascx files), which are not deployed from here, but instead directly from Web -> Web Files -> Web controls.

    Thank you, Iulian.

Here is what happens when I deploy:

    1. Right click on my EP page, and select "Deploy to EP"

    EPDeploy2.png

    2. Click "Ok" to deploy to Home

    EPDeploy3.png

    3. Click "Ok" to update page:

    4. Get error:

As I was mentioning in my initial post. I do not think you are deploying the right AOT node. What is it you want to deploy? A Web Page? A List Page?

    Thank you, Iulian.

This is a customized form from Visual Studio using Developer Tools (not a one-click List Page).

I have found that when I try to deploy the controls themselves, I also get an error:

Step 1. Right click to deploy element Web/Web Files/Web Controls/EP_MRKP_AppInvPaymentListPage

    EPControlDeploy2.png

Step 2. Get the following error window:

Do you have a separate EP machine or is it a all in one installation? If separate, the client you are trying to deploy from is it open on the EP machine or another? It can be different machines, but I'm trying to understand your scenario.

Do you have UAC enabled on the machine(s)?

Also, with the user you are opening the AX client can you navigate on your Sharepoint's machine to the folder c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\ep?
