Hi there,

Does anyone currently utilize a bar code scanner process to relieve inventory from the system? We currently use GP 2010 and would like to know our options to control our inventory. Thanks.

We use Accellos Collect for GP.

There are a large number of solutions that vary in a full spectrum from simple data capture to full warehouse management systems (WMS).

They are all different from my investigations with strengths and weaknesses.

It will take a lot of investigation to work out the right one for you.

I'd recommend one that have evidence of tight integration with GP rather than one that claims to be to "work with GP".

Some take copies of the data others keep GP as the store.

A post from my blog might help.

I think that Tim is correct on this matter - simply saying you want to use bar codes to control our inventory is a pretty simple view of the overall problem.  Using bar codes and getting control of inventory are very tricky matters and this is where a good consultant that can dive deep into both areas is a great find.

Look for someone that can assist you in understanding both sides long before you get to a 'product' solution.

    Good luck.
