Detecting schedule conflicts

Hi all,

In the "Classic" web interface for CRM 9, scheduling an activity will check against a user's CRM calendar and pop up a warning that the user is unavailable at that time. The Unified Interface seems to have lost that functionality. I've entered a ticket with Microsoft and they are reviewing it, but there's no guarantee if or when it will be fixed. In the mean time, I'm trying to come up with an action or real-time workflow to check for an existing activity at the specified time for the assigned user and fire off a Business Process Error if it's filled.

Any suggestions on how to make it work, or other workarounds? This is D365 V9.1 online with UUI.

    Hi,

if microsoft confirmed this functionality is not available in new interface, I am afraid you have to write your own plugin or workflow or js to achieve that.

Besides the activity date, you might need to check the calendar also( if you want to check for business hour, holiday)

below links are for your reference.

Hi Alex, thanks for the links. Fortunately business hours and holidays aren't an issue - all I'm really needing to do is check Appointments to see if the owner already has one scheduled when a new appointment is created. It seems like it should be easy, but nothing with D365 ever is. ;)

And I did get word back from Microsoft, in case anyone else runs into the same issue: "currently this is ‘by design’, but there is a planned implementation for introducing the conflict warning. It is currently scheduled to hit US-based servers in March 2019, but this is a tentative date, so it may vary."

    Hi,

Then custom workflow and plugin are your temporary solution.
