It would be a frequent asked question, but it is still not really satisfying to manage marketing contacts(should be called leads in Sales app) and sales contacts by only using a flag option.

Will the update of using lead entity directly for marketing campaigns be available in the future?

thanks for reporting the issue to us. So far, there is no such plan to user lead entity for marketing.
If you have any questions or concerns on this design, kindly please raise it here experience.dynamics.com/.../ . Depending upon their justification and votes, MS may consider this in the upcoming releases.

The customer journey editor can now target customers who are represented as Leads, in addition to Contacts. This creates new, flexible avenues to reach customers in segments and journeys.
