Company based Financial Dimensions Values

Hi Experts,

I am curious to know if anyone use company based financial dimensions i am trying to use it but system does not response on company based financial dimension setup i have configure two company and want to create financial dimensions specific to company. we can cater this solution through account structure by giving range of values to each company in account structure but curious to know about feature given in below screen shoot how i can utilize this function of system as it restore the setup when i select financial dimensions values company specific. Thank You

Hi Harisgillani,

What have you entered as company specific financial dimension value?

That is, what is the difference of business unit 10021 that is used in all companies compared to your TOPI company?

Thanks for your response,

Actually i just show the screen to confirm, where if i select Business unit Value 10021 as Company specific and select Other company e.g USMF not TOPI so according to my understanding this value 10021 should not be appear in TOPI company and should only appear in USMF. How i can utilize this feature shown on above screen shoot. would you please explain me the aim of this functionality?

Hi Haris Gillani,

Where I have seen this overwrite functionality is for suspending financial dimensions.

Example.

For the demo company USMF, business unit 002 is suspended

If I try to record a journal and use this business unit, then I receive an error

Note: The business unit is still visible and can be selected in Journals because I have not make an adjustment to my account structures and generally allowed all business unit financial dimension values to be used.

Hi Haris,

You can also create two dimensions and use account structures and the ledger form to distinguish in what legal entity which dimension will be used. Then you don't have to suspend the values.

Ro use this approach or the suggestion from Ludwig depends on reporting requirements and if some values should be available in multiple legal entities.
