Hi,

we have a decimal field that we want to set with business rules to 0.5, the validation is OK, but when we save the business rule and reopen the rule there is an error and when we check the set value form the 0.5 value has been replaced with 0,5??

Validate before save OK

After saving and reopen the business rule

Can someone please help why this is happening?

regards
Martin

    Hi,

Just to confirm this solution worked for me. Kudos to the tech who found it and thank you for sharing this. Meant I had a 30 minute turnaround on the problem instead of well a month.

    Regards,

    Johan

    Hi Martin,

finally the solution was found with the help from MS support. You have to check the user used for the Identytity in the Application Pool in the IIS. Connect to the server with this server and check in

Control Panel, Region, Additional settings.. and correct Decimal symbol and Digit group symbol in Numbers and Currency to dot/comma as requested.

Restart the Application Server and - in my case - the problem was solved.

    Best regards, Eckart

    Hi Martin,

thanks a lot for  reply, it’s as I feared. We also assume that the problem correlates to some German settings but don’t know, where they could be. We’ve also opened a ticket to MS but I’m quite sure it will end similar to your problem.

Our consultants fear that some other problems depend on this, in our special case we have a calculation and make 2 steps *5 and /10.

I’ll just try to reproduce the problem on VMs as we think it depends on the windows installation (in an old environment all works fine).

If I get any solution I’ll post it immediately!

    Gruß, Eckart

    Hi,

no very sad, I raised a ticket with Microsoft and got personal support on the issue, they were on it for about 1 month with regular contact every day and with access to our DB and CRM but they were not able to solve the issue or reproduce it in their system. And then the conversation just stopped even if i numerous times try to contact them to get some information about the issue. But no reply :(

My own thought could be that we are Sweden based and if it could be a combination of language settings or something like that.. But as I said no answer or solution..

We solved it that the 0.5 value that we were supposed to set in the business rule . we changed it to 1.. :)

if you find a solution please feel free to post your findings here..

    regards

    Martin

    www.microsoft.com/.../customize-regional-options-admins.aspx

Are you able to save and close, then activate it?

Although stupid, but how about some other decimal value? 0.2? 1.3?

Ultimately check whether any CRM rollup will help, or raise to Microsoft as bug.
