switching from default view to a personal view doesn't work completely

Dear all

I'm using AX 365, PU 42.
The Form , I'm talking about is a normal form, Task single pattern, 12 Data Sources.

I have a form, where I change the fields, which are shown and filter to a specific value in one of the fields.

I save it as an own view.

I reopen the form and switch to my saved view. The field, I set invisible disappear, but the filtering does not work, I still see all lines, instead of the single line, I fitered to.

This behavior is in about three or more of our about 200 forms.

Does anybody have an idea, what the problem is?

Not working

pastedimage1620818378729v1.png

working form (another one)

pastedimage1620818396268v2.png

What I additionally see: the firs image is the not working form, the second is working.,
"Transportaufträge" is the form title, teh number is the name of my saved view.

They have different positions. Is there any context?

I didn't find any method, which is run after changing the view, so I'm not able to see, what happens. I assume there is a change in the SQL statement for receiving the data, so my idea was to debug it and find where the SQL Statement is build. Perhaps the I find the reason, why it doesn't work.

So does anybody have experience in this area?

Thank You for any answer.

kind regards

Gerhard Gaupp

    Hi Gerhard,

    Are both screenshots from the same environment or different environments? I do assume it is a custom form. Can you reproduce the issue on another standard form? Do you know if this form might have some logic which will build a certain query with x++ coding?

    Note that the saved view contains a packed query. This will be used, but can be overwritten by x++ logic. You can review the form logic if this is the case or ask help from a developer if you don't have the skills yourself.

    Hi André

    thanks You for Your reply.

    both screenshots are from the same environment. It is my developer environment, but it is the same behavior in other environments in our company, which are used for testing.

    Both forms are custom forms.

    The standard forms, I tested, work fine.

    I'm a developer and assumed, the change from "standard view" to another will change a query. But I didn't find any method, which is run after changing the view. In our code I didn't find any method, which is run after changing.

    The only grid on this page has overwritten the method "filter", which is not run in this situation.

    The grid'S DataSource has several overwritten methods, which are not run:

    public void removeFilter()

    public void research()

    public void executeQuery()

    public void init()

    public int active()

    private boolean activateRegisterProcurmentIdCTL()

    public void create(boolean _append = false)

    and some lookup and jumpRef Methods of some fields.

    What I tried some time ago:

    I searched for overwritable methods in the form, the grid and the datasource, to find the one, which is run after chaging the vew. My hope was to find it and see the query, and perhaps be able to understand, what happens.

    But I didn't find the method.

    After all this, Do You have any more ideas, which might be helpful?

    kind regards

    Gerhard

    Now I removed all code from the form and it doesn't work, so I assume it is not anoverwritten method, which cuses the missbehavior.

    I made a copy of the form and step by step removed nearly all.

    One DataSource is left.

    One tab, inside a TabPage, inside a grid with only one field.

    No code in the form.

    It's still not working.

    The DatSource is used in other forms, which work fine.

    Does anybody have an idea, what the problem might be?

    Hi André

    I did a lot of testing today and worked with several forms.

    Perhaps there are some information, You ca use to help me out of this issue.

    I created a new form, including a single DataSource and da grid.

    It doesn't work. The Pattrsn of teh form is Task Single.

    Then I changed it to Pattern Details Master.

    Result: same Data Source and Grid: it works.

    The Form I started with has a new version of it, which is Details MAster, too. the old Version of it is Task Single and doesn't work.

    It this a known issue, depending on Form Design Patterns?

    Hi Gerhard,

    It is indeed related to the form pattern. That came into my mind when reading your question again with the new replies. As the design of the form is different, it should be a pattern. If you read the documentation for this task single form pattern, it is mentioned that it shouldn't be used for new forms. This might be the reason that this pattern is not updated with all the logic and causing your issue. I would suggest to use another form pattern.

    Hi André

    thanks for the answer.

    Now I can discuss in my company, how to handle this: Change the patterns or use it with the not working part.

    kind regards

    Gerhard
