Import data for Active or Inactive Records

Hey Guys !

I'm having a difficult sittuation.

I have two records, with the same informations, but, with different status. Like two Contacts, both the same, but one Active and the other Inactive.

I need to import a Account, and in Primary contact, put one of those records that have different status, in the case, only the Active.

When I try, it shows me an error, telling me that there's a duplicate record.

Can I import using a kind of filter, for CRM only recognize the active Contacts?

    Unfortunately there is no option to specify a filter in the import wizard. However here are a few options

    1. If you have any unique field (something like SSN/ customer id) then you can use that to get the right contact while mapping.

    2. Do you need these duplicate inactive records? If not, deleting them could make the process simple!

    3. Temporarily update the inactive contact records to help the import wizard choose the active record.. for example, you could append "inactive" to the last name. You can do this by using bulk-edit or export-excel. Once the import is completed, you can remove the changes.

    4.Build a custom app that imports data into CRM and checks for this condition.

    you could change the name of the inactive contact to contact name + duplicate.

    So when you import the data it won't find two records for that contact
