How to retreive automatic doc nr when registering a journal

Hi, new in the system. Trying to register an ordinary booking in the ledger (accounting). I have to write the document nr I want to use when registering. I'd like the system to use the first free number in the number series, I should not need to write the number. How do I handle this?

Hi,

Yes, you can assign a number series to the batch you are using. e.g. If you are using General Journal with batch Standard then you can assign No series to it by following steps.

1. Open General Journal page.

2. Click on the downward arrow in batch name. The batches page will open.

3. Use edit list action to assign a no series to your batch.

If you want to assign auto number you need to create a number series first then you need to assign that on the General Journal Batch..
