Order Split Functionality

Posted on by 2

In Business Central, is it possible to split a single Sales Order into one or more orders depending on the items?

There is no standard way of doing this.
You can also refer to the method below to create an order.
How to create recurring orders (Recurring Sales Lines and Recurring Purchase Lines)

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.

    That depends.

    Technically, no. Not without customization.

There is a manual workaround, although it depends on your actual business case how workable the workaround is.
Using the Copy Document function, it is possible to copy the original SO into multiple new orders, you will have to delete the superfluous lines in the copied orders.

Obviously, that will only work for orders
    - with a limited number of lines
    - without item tracking
    - without automatical reservation.

So, there is a lot against this workaround... as i mentioned: it depends on the business case.
The more precise the question, the more relevant the answer...
