Send Email Reminder Upon KIV Opportunity

We are planning on sending email reminder upon KIV opportunity date reaching which if there's KIV opportunity, sales person need to field up KIV follow-up date then the system will automatically send out email reminder to the sales person. Anyone here having the idea on how to do it?
