Am using CRM 2013 , I have a user that appear as active but he cannot log in and when I want to change any properties of this user it gives me that the user does not exists !! I checked the sql database the user appear twice (I do not know why), am getting this message whenever I do any action on this user :

usersettings With Id = 18079858-6451-de11-8577-001c23e18ffe Does Not Exist

I appreciate your support on how I can reset or activate this user knowing that there are records related to this user.

More over I have done an upgrade from CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 and every thing is running fine except for this user.

RE: CRM user Appear as activated but he cannot log in or perform any action on this user

It's possible the user has multiple AD accounts, or you have 2 AD users with the same name?  What's most likely happened is that the user has a GUID in AD that gets assigned to the systemuser record, and that ActiveDirectoryGuid has changed in CRM so it can't find the user in AD to authenticate them.

In either case, this is NOT an easy problem to fix.  There are no 'supported' methods that I know of to fix this.  The official advice I can give you is to contact Microsoft support and ask them to help you.

***** The following is an UNSUPPORTED method, so do multiple backups of your data and be prepared to quickly restore the affected rows if needed.  If you are not a SQL DBA or do not have extensive experience with SQL, find someone who is before you attempt this.  No warranties are expressed or implied, so don't blame me if you mess up your CRM. ****

The unsupported method, is to find out the correct GUID and do a SQL update of the ActiveDirectoryGuid field on the systemuser record.

To find out the correct GUID, you may have to setup a Dev/Test server and go through the process of backing up and restoring the CRM instance.  During this process, you have to Import the database in the CRM Deployment manager, which makes CRM go back to AD and refresh the ActiveDirectoryGuid field.

Once it's restored, query the systemuser record for that user and see what the ActiveDirectoryGuid field is set to.  Be sure and have the affected user try to login to CRM on your Dev/Test server and make sure that works before you go and update your production instance.  Compare that value to the one in production.  If they are different, then you will need to update the production value to whatever is set in Dev/Test.

Again, this is highly unsupported stuff, so use this advice at your own risk.

Thank you Chris for your input , Actually after we tried all options (the GIUD of active directory was the same) what we found is that the AuthenticationID was not correct so we replaced it with the correct ID and it worked fine but it was a tough things to detect.

    Thanks
