Why Production Journal doesn't breakdown the Finished Group into components in NAV

Hi Community,

not sure if anyone can advise..

I have completed my Film Planned Production
I am now in the Released Planned Production, wanting to go to the Released Planned Production. At the Lines, I open up the Production journal and see that my Finished Goods(FG) is being divided to several components and raw materials...

Now I open another Released Planned Production order, and similarly I go to the Lines and open the Production Journal, but this time I see that my Finished Good(FG) is not divided, it appear the same as FG which is strange. Why no breakdown?

Kindly advise.

Thank you!

In the second production order, most probably You haven't provided the BOM materials and system doesn't know which items will be consumed. On production order line, press Line -- Components . Most likely the list is empty here, but on the first order You will see lines here.

In the production journal You can register the quantities of consumed materials (if it was more/less than in the BOM, and if there was a scrap quantity), and register how much of each finished item You output.

Or could be for the second finished items, the Flushing method is not manual, but automatic (forwards/backwards)?

seems you are using the output as entry type on the second screenshot which explains why no components are shown.

I believe you are right, there is not enough raw materials, hence Navision do not know which raw material to consume. But what I find it strange is that, how come Navision didn't prompt me that there is not enough raw material, and still proceed to release my production.

Was it something I need to setup?

    If anyone can advise.
    Thank you!
