Dynamics 365 App (Windows 10) and working Offline

Hi All,

I have a scenario where it would be useful for a user to have Offline Access to D365 at times.

There is the option to use the mobile app (iPhone) but it would be better if this offline functionality was available to use on our Surface Pro tablets.

I've had a look at the Dynamics 365 App available through the Windows Store in Windows 10 but can't see the 'Offline Status' option in the elipse/kebab menu (the one that is available in the mobile/tablet version.

Has anyone had any experience with using the Dynamics 365 App for Windows 10 in offline mode? Or have any suggestions on how I could get offline access to D365 on a Windows 10 device?

Hi CamParker,

Currently the Offline feature is only available for IOS/Android.

Hi Partner,

The Dynamics 365 app in Microsoft store is released in 2016, it is not the latest version and does not support offline status.

Now only Mobile phone app supports offline status for D365.

It's a shame they don't have this for the desktop version.

Are you guys aware of any solutions for offline D365 access in windows 10?

Hi,

On Surface Pro tablets, you can use Dynamics 365 for Outlook App which support offline capability.

Hi Partner,

Sorry that currently only the online version and Onpremise version run in Win10 and all of them do not support offline status, only mobile app has offline status. If you really want this function, you could raise an idea to Microsoft Team.

The thread above have suggested answer already.

However, if you have some particular entities only for offline capability why not use import functionality. You could provide users with a template having required columns so data entry could be done & later uploaded.

This may or may not fit your scenario, but there are always workarounds.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately as the Dynamics 365 for Outlook plugin has been deprecated, we have moved over to the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook and am not too keen to go back again

In our case I'm leaning towards getting the particular officers another device that they they can use the mobile app on, and I'll try to get an Idea up.
