Can I customise the layout of the page itself?

Hi Guys,

I am semi new to dynamics, in that I have never had to write an integration with it for another system.

Basically we have a system whereby we create "Interactions" with customers, and we need these to be sent to Dynamics. However, we ideally want to be able to handle the interactions from within Dynamics, which is easy enough with an iframe showing certain parts of our application where necessary. However, what I really would like is a sticky footer, which I can add "components" too. So the one component would be an iframe into our systems queuing system - this would allow the user to be logged into our system, and they can see interactions assigned to them, and they can "accept" them in our system, which would cause our system to then push data into Dynamics.

From what I have learnt so far, there is no way to add a sticky footer item which will stay no matter what page the user is on. So my next hope was that I could embed an iframe into the sitemap on the left hand side. Does anyone know if this is possible. I know I can make a link to a "Web Resource" but thats a page load, and ideally the users should be able to see the "Interactions" being assigned to them in realtime.

Any tips, or pointers in the right direction would be amazing.

Cheers Guys,

Andrew

    Hi Leah,

Thank you for responding. Currently, I was looking at making a custom App. But I also considered using the Customer Service Hub too. I am open to suggestions as I am still exploring options for this project.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hi drewdan,

As you said, you can’t add a sticky footer item which will stay no matter what page the user is on.

For adding an iframe into the sitemap on the left hand side, which is also not possible.

Currently, you can only add iframe to the form:

Use IFRAME and web resource controls on a form | Microsoft Docs

    Hi Leah,

Thank you for coming back to me and clarifying - that has been really useful.

I will stick to including the iframe in the relevant forms for now, and I think that should work well enough.

    Thanks again,

    Andrew
