any one is facing the issue, that changing the name f the workflow activity will not make any different in Work flow dialog
after the V 9 update we are having this issue
any ideas

Hi guys,
I have also run into this issue and used the following workaround:
1-Change the new Workflow activity name to the one you desire
2-Create a temporary solution and add the assembly containing that Workflow activity
3-Export it as an unmanaged solution
4-Delete the Workflow Activity using plugin registration tool
5-Import back the solution and publish customization
Result: the workflow activity will be created with desired name

my point is before updating to v9 i was able to re name it (Friendly name) not the class name and set the group name (Check the image), but after that i cannot set the group name or setting it will not reflect
unregister/delete the workflow activity plugin from the dynamics instance using VS or plugin registration tool and then register it again after changing the names, however to unregister you have to remove this activity step from all workflows.
You mean i will create it, change the name then delete then re create

Have you tried to remove the custom workflow activity and re register it after updating the group name and friendly name from VS?
This worked for us.
