Getting a rather strange error when trying to install the Web Services runtime for GP 2010 R2 with all updates (clean install of GP and SQL).
The host machine is Server 2008 x64, running SQL 2008 with SP3.
The installer tells me I need an OS of Server 2008 or higher on the SQL server storing the security information. I get this error on both this SQL server, as well as our production one (which has the same runtime installed previously).
Steps taken to resolve:
- Tried changing DTC settings as per a KB article addressing a different GP web services install issue.
- Installed SP3 for Web Services first.
- Made sure eConnect was not installed.
Appreciate any and all help on this one.
