Printing GP Invoices with Asian Characters

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We are on GP 10.0 and have offices in Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong that require us to print Sales Order invoices in Japanese, Chinese, and Thai characters.  Per our GP partner there are no translated versions in these languages.  Has anyone found a workaround or solution to print in these languages?  Any 3rd party products or customizations?

Another option would be to explore the use of Accountable's Forms Printer product.

A single invoice form could be established that used formula fields based on a SOP UDF field "Language".

Based on the Language selected, the formula fields could display the character string needed.

While I haven't tested this with characters (likely need to copy/paste text from Word), it may be worth contacting Accountable for.

My thought would be use word templates and find the necessary fonts that you need. Of course this would only work from a heading/static text standpoint and not do translations.
