Hello,
Does GP 2010 track vendor record changes? Is this something I can generate via Smartlist? If so, what field do I have to choose? Thank you very much.

Addition to all the above valuable suggestions, if you want to track only vendor master records, then you can use activity tracking within GP. But, if you enable this for transaction files, surely it will affect your performance.
I think, better you can create a SQL trigger for only vendor master table and store the tracking details to any custom table. Then create a custom smartlist with tracking details table to check the audited vendor master details. It won't affect your performance and you no need use any other tools.
Hope this helps!!!
I agree with Bill & Harry. The activity tracking comes with GP. As said by Bill, it is very generic e.g if you set it for "Modifications to Master File" option for a particular user. It monitors all the Master Information if the user is accessed to Customer,Vendor, Inventory,COA etc... and the speed issue for the users.
The vendor Master table holds the modifed date(MODIFDT) but not actually which user has modified it.
Are you have licensed to Audit Trails and Installed on your existing GP 2010? If so, it works for your requirement. But, Microsoft has discontinued this product from "December 1, 2012". Good news is that you can still continue to use these modules if you own them, and you won’t pay maintenance on them. BUT they won’t upgrade to Dynamics GP version 2013 is the major draw back.

Sometimes I fear the future - in this case - might be a pretty neat add on to have.
Thanks Harry.
Bill is right on both counts - the tool is Activity Tracking, and is should be used sparingly. As an aside, GP 2015 adds Vendor Approval as a feature. The future is calling.
Are you looking to see who is making changes to Vendor Master records? You can use the Activity Tracking tool in the Administration section of the GP 2010 system.
Caution here is that there is a fair amount of overhead associated with this and it can be a source of speed issues for the users.
But, you can select a user, a company, a task and monitor it. This is done in the Activity Tracking window. Then to review what is happening you can use the Inquiry window >> Activity Tracking and filter by user, company and or activity.
Use this sparingly and dont just set up everyone on everything. If you think users are 'playing' with data - then monitor that - just my suggestion.
Hope this helps.
