SQL 2008 Configuration settings

Does Microsoft provide documentation on SQL 2008 or Windows Server 2008 configurations for a new GP 10 implementation? I don't mean the system requirements, but configurations that should be set before installing GP for the firs time? I have been looking for documentation to send to an outside IT group and can't seem to find it.

    I'm not aware of any install documentation for configuring SQL 2008 or Windows Server 2008 for GP 10.

    For Windows Server 2008 you will need to install GP 10 Service Pack 2 or later in order to go through Dynamics GP Utilities and complete the GP install.

    When installing SQL you need to choose Mixed Mode authentication as the authentication type.

    You may also need to configure IIS if you plan on installing SharePoint/Business Portal on your GP Server.

    Hi Jaymi,

    Have you looked in the Installation and Configuration training manual? While the instructions are not specific to 2008, the settings themselves have not changed.
