change the parent business unit in crm 2015 online

Hi,

In our crm the main ( parent ) business unit

in the develop and also in the test are same.

And when I want to change the main business unit in the test - 

I get a message that I have to fill the parent business.

My problem is that also when I open the look up record there are no records.

What can I do?

    I'm sorry, no one answer me, so I  thought that my question didn't arived.

    My problem is:

    Our parent BU in the develop environment is devcrm,

    Also in the test environment Our parent BU is devcrm.

    I want to change the parent BU in the test environment to testcrm,

    but when I edit the parent BU name I get a message that I have to fill his parent BU.

    and when I open the look up record (to choose parent BU)  there are no records.

    What can I do?

    If my question wasn't clear, please write me what wasn't clear.

    Hi,

    You are trying to rename the default business unit which is created along with instance. It's not possible to change. please refer below link.

    From MSDN:

    The organization (also known as the root business unit) is the top level of a Microsoft Dynamics CRM business unit hierarchy. CRM automatically creates the organization when you install or provision CRM. You can’t change or delete the organization name.

    Hi,

    Instance name will be used to create as Organisation Name (aka Business Unit).You cant rename this.  this will act as Parent BU.  So Its not possible to change.

    I think you will find it is possible to change the name of the root BU in  CRM 2015. It wasn't in earlier versions.

    If you go to Settings > Security> Business Units.  Select the row which represents the BU at the top of the hierarchy. (the one with no Parent BU)

    Then just change the name.
