What is a good strategy to learn Dynamics 365/CRM development?

Since the release of Dynamics 365 for Sales, there is a bit of confusion to me about the architecture around development/extension when comparing with CRM 2016. The DLP course for Developing Solutions for CRM 2016 seems to cover Form Event Scripting, Plugin architecture, Web api etc.. Do these apply to D365 for Sales too?

Jaffer, Yes. Once you know the architecture and api it is relevant for most areas of CRM.

Hi Jaffer,

Yes, it is totally related, even though there are lots of enhancements in Dynamics 365 but all the core concepts are same. After completing your DLP course you can refer docs.microsoft.com/.../dynamics365 for more Dynamics 365 specific documentations and tools.

Hi Jaffer,

Dynamics 365 for Sales is basically the Sales Module that was part of Dynamics CRM.

Dynamics 365 for Service is basically the Service Module that was part of Dynamics CRM.

Dynamics 365 for Marketing is new, and contains a lot of enhancements to what was the marketing module of Dynamics CRM.

Basically you can learn the courses for Dynamics CRM (2016), and moving forward, you will just need to keep up to date with new enhancements and features that are added to Dynamics 365.
