As a MAPS Microsoft Partner, should we see the full functionality and content of life cycle services (LCS)?

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help.  We're a MAPS partner, and we'd like to understand LCS better.  Obviously there's some good documentation here for example, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/lifecycle-services/lcs .

However, when I log into LCS there's hardly anything there - and certainly nothing very useful!  I can create a project, but only for Microsoft Dynamics NAV, versions 2015 to 2018.  None of the methodologies, business process modeller, etc. are shown.

As we have Dynamics Customer Engagement (CE) as a MAPS partner, it would be useful to be able to use LCS for that product (or a 30 day trial of Finance, for example).

Is this possible, if so, how?

Thanks,

Phil

    Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help with this issue? We became a MAPS partner last year, and having been immersing ourselves in the Microsoft world ever since (in addition to 20+ years experience prior to that from a customer perspective).

What I'm not clear on is the functionality of LCS - or what's visible to us anyway - compared to what's described in MS Learn.  So, in Learn we have https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/lifecycle-services/lcs-user-guide but when I login to LCS I don't see much content or functionality at all.

Is LCS available to MAPS partners at all - either in relation to CE or other D365 options (e.g. Finance) if we setup a demo of Finance?

    Thanks,

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

Access to Dynamics 365 for Finance projects is granted by Microsoft on request. You can apply by reading the guide provided by Mattguo.

Indeed, initially, LCS looks empty when there is no access to some project types.

    Thanks André and Mattguo

Certainly one of the least obvious aspects of Dynamics we’ve encountered so far! :)

    Regards

    Phil
