We are using Atlas for AX and a big part of getting up to speed on this, is knowing where the data is.

Is there documentation on AX table names, column definitions, and their relations?

Thank you in advance for your assistance

Peter

MSDN have all information you are asking just BING through and you'll get the result.

If you're looking for a complete data model manual then there's only one for AX 4.0. There's no such official manual for later versions as far as I know. But for a limited subset of tables you can always use a Reverse Engineering tool and create a data model using the application metadata. Note that you'll need Visio to view the generated model. Just create a new project, drag tables of interest into it, right-click on the project and select Add-ins/Reverse Engineer/Data model. Note that you can also use a wildcard in the GroupMask property of a project group node to add all the AOT objects which names match the wildcard instead of dragging them into the project.

    Hi Peter

Take a look at the Perspectives tree node in the AOT Data Dictionary.  This lists the main tables used fror most of the modules.   AX uses these perspectives to build the OLAP cubes etc.

You can also emal helpdesk@globesoftware.com.au and request a data source list the module you're after.

    Steve.
