Calling JavaScript on load of a ribbon button

I need to show some alert on load of each tab, ( like service, sales, settings etc) of MS CRM 2011 On Premise. FOr that I need to place a ribbon button on each tab and need to call the JavaScript function on load of that button. Does anyone have elaboration regarding the exact steps I need to follow? I tried earlier but the function is not getting called. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sumit,

    You can achieve this using the Ribbon Workbench and JavaScript.

    Using Ribbon Workbench, you can create buttons that call JavaScript functions. You will need to create JavaScript functions to alert messages, and have these functions run on click of the buttons you create in Ribbon Workbench.

    As Adrian mentions below, you can use Ribbon Workbench to have Ribbon buttons calls JavaScript functions, but based on your question, I am not sure if that is what you are looking for.

    You mention you want to display alerts on the loading of "tabs". Sales/Service/Settings are basically navigation areas, so can you provide further details in case what you are looking for is not the Ribbon buttons?

    Hi Aric and Adrian, Thanks a lot for your response. Basically I want to trigger a JavaScript function whenever a user logs in to Sales/Service/Settings(Navigation areas) that too in CRM 2011 On Premise. What I am trying is adding a ribbon button, and ON Load of that button I want to trigger my JavaScript, not on the click of button.
