At the Dynamics email editor, when I copy+paste a URL into the email, it automatically sets the "Link Type" to be "E-mail"?
This is a recent change. It used to be that URLs were pasted in with a link type of "URL". Now they are pasted in with a link type of "E-mail".
Why has the default behaviour changed?
For example, here I am in the email editor, having pasted a URL into my email:
But when I edit the link [which I do to see its "Link Type"], it tells me the "Link Type" is "E-mail".
It's a problem because when the customer opens the link, it will open the link with their default email client, rather than their browser.
My question is why/when did the default behaviour change? Is it configurable so that links are pasted into email with a link-type of "URL", not "email"?
Any help appreciated
Much appreciated, Christoffer..
Brilliant, much appreciated, @Christoffer Larson!
Much appreciated, Leco Lv , you're a star!
Hi Mike,
The fix will be released on train2.3. Unfortunately, this bug was only fixed in Train 2.3 and is still affected in versions prior to Train 2.3. The date(2.28) given to you earlier is indeed the fix date, but I overlooked that it is the fix date and not the release date of the fix version. Sorry for the wrong lead. So as of now, the repaired version has not been launched yet, and the expected launch time in Europe is March 17.
I noticed that you have opened a ticket with Microsoft Teams to raise support, you can check with them if the date (Train 2.3 Europe is March 17.) is correct.
Information was provided from Microsoft support after we opened a ticket.
You can find out when you will get it from the release plans. This one is for sales but I think it's the same for many "modules" learn.microsoft.com/.../dynamics365sales
Thanks Christoffer Larsson . How do you know that? Is it in a link somewhere?
Anyway, I am on version "Server version: 9.2.23022.00174", but since I'm using an online instance, why am I still on this older version? Shouldn't it roll out automatically?
Thanks Leco Lv. I'm in the United Kingdom [UK].
Is fixed in version 9.2.23023 wich is deployed on the 17 of Mars for CRM4 according to Microsoft.
Hi Mike,
Would you mind telling me the region your environment is in? I'll follow up for you.
Hiya Leco Lv it's the 6th March [i.e. way past Feb 28th when you suggested it might be fixed by], and I noticed this has not yet been fixed. Any idea why not? Appreciated.
