Hi
This is kind of strange case. We have some "lot controlled" items but we have "alternative" items for them that they are not lot controlled items. We only sell "none lot controlled" items. At the moment we sort "lot controlled" items based on their expiration date. Then we use Item Journal and take them out of inventory. Than we add them back as "none lot controlled" items. Then sell them.
I am struggle for the method that let us to handle this situation better.
Any suggestion here will help.
Also, any method or ISV or Power Automation to automate our current process if we have no other way except our current process?
Thanks
So basically they use the lot handling only for the physical handling of the inventory.
So can't you just define that the sales transactions does not require lot no.
Then they can sell without assigning lot no. and the inventory will be reduced according to the fifo method?
Thanks NorthW
That was my question. These are "plant" products. the only purpose of LOT is to reflect their age and not other purposes. Hence, when they sell "lot" has no value and they can mix of lots" But "lots" utilized to keep track of expire date to know these products are mature enough to sell (close to expire date means they are mature). In one SO they can sell 100 lots which is really time consuming to enter them all. They convert all lots to one none-lot for this purpose.
I hope this makes sense.
The obvious answer here i guess would be to sell the lot controlled item directly but exempt the sales transaction from being lot controlled if that is the issue.
But why can you not or don't you want to use lot control through the whole business process?
