Hello,
Any solution or 3rd party extension to be able to migrate the journal entries from dynamics gp to D365?
Thanks for the help in advance
We have performed multiple migrations using the Microsoft cloud migration tool, and it works quite well. The tool creates a new D365 Business Central company and migrates all GL historical data. It also brings in the Chart of Accounts, Vendors, Customers, Items, etc. Here is the Microsoft documentation for the tool: Migrate from Dynamics GP to Business Central online - Business Central | Microsoft Docs. I also did a session at Summit 2021 on this topic. If you are interested in a recording of the session, I can send it to you.
If you are only looking to bring in GL data into BC, the tool would not be appropriate. You can, however, bring the data in manually using a configuration package. Because you need to bring the data in as an unposted transaction and post it, I recommend that you bring in summary GL data by period rather than all historical transactions.
I hope this gives helps.
Hi
I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuQ61bV9B-I and the following screenshot. Seems like you can transfer General Ledger History by period. But for the rest you need to take it to Data Lake.
I could not find any 3rd party app yet for this purposes.
Or what tables are you using in the configuration package?
So the migration tool in the assisted setup has the ability to move the journal entries? if yes are you able to provide steps or a link to a website that explains the process.
I have read a couple of articles on the migration subject but it did not show any were how to migrate the journal entries
I have used the cloud migration tool to move all GP to Business Central. Otherwise a Configuration package can be created
