AX2009 : Number Sequence List shows Active and Used number of Posted transactions!

Hi All,

One  of my customers feedback is that the Number sequence  List for Journal is always piling up with Active and Used number  of posted transactions, some dating upto a year ago.

Yes, we can do a number sequence cleanup and solve the problem,

But why do Active and Used numbers go back to the list ?    Is there anyway to prevent this or is it an AX 2009 limitation ?

Thanks.

Adrian

    Hi Andre,

Yes, I am referring to the Journal numbers and the customer is using continuous.

I dont think there were customizations but will check.

    Thanks!

    Hi Adrian,

I think you are talking about the Journal numbers itself; not the vouchers within the journal lines.

For the journal (batch) numbers I always use a non continuous number sequence. It will show some gaps when you delete not used journals, but that is no problem.

If you do use the continuous number sequence you can have this problem in some occasions, mostly related to automatic created journals within customizations.(and wrong use of the NumberSeq class).

Can you indicate if you have some customizations in this area?

I would suggest to have continuous for the number sequence turned off.
