Transfer Receipt Work Template Doesn't Allow Directive Code

I have a customer requirement to direct items returned from other warehouses to different distribution centre locations depending on the life cycle state assigned to the item. If the life cycle state is "Expired" then the product should be directed to a location for destruction. If the life cycle state is "In-market" then the product should be directed to a location for subsequent restocking.

I have created location directives that query the life cycle state, and intended to assign these to the work template for Transfer receipt. However D365 doesn't seem to allow the use of directive codes on specific work templates such as Transfer receipt, Inventory movement, and Purchase order receiving.

Has anyone experienced similar requirements that were solved without a modification?

RE: Transfer Receipt Work Template Doesn't Allow Directive Code

    Hello,

This works only if the Put line is not the last Put in the work template.

For purchase orders, the location of the last work order line of type Put is resolved before the work template is determined.

Therefore it is not possible to connect the last line of a work template to a specific
    directive."

It is because for purchase put away work we
determine the put away location before the work template is selected, therefore
the directive code would have no effect as it is set on the work template.

Transfer Receipt Work Template Doesn't Allow Directive Code
    Hello,

I had the same issue : the field Directive code is not selectable for purchase order.

I manage to get into the field by using the tab key. Then, you will be able to enter your directive code for your put line orders with no errors message.

However, I still need to test the locations instructions so.

    I hope this help !

    Hi

The last put on the work template will be determined by the location directives and directives codes cannot be used for the same.

So, for your scenario you just need to make 2 location directives one for Expired and one for In market along with 1 work template which will be shared.

In case expired items require a 2 put movement Pick > Put > Pick > Put you can filter the items based on the lifecycle state on the work template header as well.
