Our primary vendor occasionally changes their part numbers.  Is there a way in BC to transfer the quantity and pricing history of the existing part to the new number?
I have the same question (0)

Is your Business Central item setup to have the same item number as your vendor's number? If so, then in Business Central you can rename your item number.

where do you store the vendor item number?
most of the time, you can just rename the item number by overwriting the number.
if you are using the item no as the vendor item no, you can just rename item no.

if you want to keep history of previous part number, you could create a new item with a part number and block the old item card.
you could also keep the history of vendor item number under reference of item card.
You could also, per suggested, overwrite item card with a new number.

whichever you choose, you don't need to transfer transactions.

Hi, as mentioned by several experts above, directly renaming the Item is one approach. But I personally recommend using Item Reference, which can retain your existing item information and add different No. and Description according to different vendors.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
