Dear All,

As you know, since the release of GP 2013 R2 and GP 2015.It has been decided that portal will be part of dynamics GP as opposed to earlier when we used to install portal differently even though it accessed GP data.

As we prepare to upgrade our clients to GP 2013 R2 and GP 2015,I would like to know how will portal’s (including historical) data be integrated to GP so that our requisition management can continue normally on our clients without delay or stalemate.

Kindly assists.

RomRyan

    Thanks so much Mr Campbell,

From what you have just mentioned.I got that you have updated your BP from its former share point supported application to the one integrated with GP 2013 R2. My question is,did you drop your former portal and accessed your portal data automatically on GP or there are some procedures I should do in order to migrate and upgrade my GP portal data to GP 2013 R2????.

Secondly I have portals for gp 10 and gp 2010,is there any difference between them when  taking them to the one for GP 2013 R2???.

Lastly as you have mentioned,I will appreciate when you post the links regarding business portal for GP 2013 R2 and GP 2015.

    RomRyan.

RomRyan, we have been using BP for Time and Expense entry for many years and we have not encountered any issues with the update to GP2013 R2.  All of the data that is entered via BP is stored in the GP database and is fully integrated into the host GP system.  BP holds no data (at least from a T&E implementation).

When we move to GP2015 there will b no BP to implement any longer as all the functions that we are currently using BP for will be implemented within the core of GP2015 and delivered by Web Client access or via Limited User direct access into the GP system.

When I have a bit of time I will come back and post a couple of links that helped me understand the change in GP as relates to BP access in the coming releases.

    Hope this helps.
