work templates work head maximums how to avoid creating work in decimal points

hi

i have utilised on the work templates the maximums on the general tab for weight, volumes etc. it works fine to "split" to work across multiple work headers when these maximums are reached in MOST instances, HOWEVER due to the mix of items occasionally maybe 20% of the time, work is created where this splits the work in decimal places, rather than a hole number e.g. 11.55, rather than 11 or 12. this is for NON FULL PALLETS AND PEICE PICKING ONLY.Is there anyone who knows away around this as a typical scenario could be like below:

item A unit = OTR qty = 1.  volume of OTR = 7000 (cm)

item B unit - EA qty = 1 volume of EA = 8000 (cm)

item C unit = EA qty = 1 volume of EA = 2000 (cm)

item D unit = OTR qty = 1 volume of OTR = 12000 (cm)

maximum on the work template should be volume of 27000 (cm)

so what happens in this scenario as when we get to item D the volume for that items exceeds the maximum on the work header maximum volume overall by 2000 (cm) so what i want to happen is item D fully gets split into another work header. but what happens instead is something like this:

work header 1

item A = work created = 1

item B = work created = 1

item C = work created = 1

item D = work created = 83.34

work header 2

item D = work created = 16.66

which is nonsense practically as item D is in 1 OTR so has to be picked as suck and not split into part (impossible)

any way i can add something to the maximums to round up, round down etc?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi tl82,

Please wait for the help from Functional Consultant.

update it is only occurring on items that have multiple unit conversion so NOT EA (as in each for a single unit), but for items in in OTR (outer box) that then have another unit conversion that IS NOT the stocking unit, but is on the the unit conversions as example 4 EA = 1 OTR. wondering if anyone has seen similar and how to maybe rectify on the items potentially?

i am just wondering if this additional information may help someone help me find the issue.

the method of work we are using to create the work using this maximum volume is just the work template and NO containerisation or boxing logic as in fact neither of these are right for the process as none of the items actually will go into a container or box. therefore we release to warehouse from the sales order on as part of a load from load planning work bench.

i am thinking there maybe is an issue with the the item set up here in released products, considering its ONLY and issue when the items have more than one unit on there there set up. e.g. the unit in manage stock is say OTR (a box of several each items, so say a box of 6 tins of beans) but on say the purhase tab for the item the unit set is EA. therefore on the items itself it has these multiple unit conversions. whereas the one's i have never seen this issue on only have 1 convversion from EA to PL, not EA to OTR and then OTR to PL.

also i have noticed on the items i see this issue on they are set like this example on the manage stock area of the items in released products.

    pastedimage1629629598904v2.png

but when you go to the physical dimensions on the items they are all blank?

am i right to assume this should be filled in, as the IT team havent set ANY items up at all with this populated.

plus when i use the import units button to drag through the details it populates like below example with the same dimensions for both OTR and PL in terms of everthing on the items. when this is only relevant to the OTR in this example. to me this shows the set up is wrong on this item am i correct?

found this set up on the items effected that is consistent but NOT on the items without this issue. does anyone thing this could be the issue?
