CRM On-Premise - Email Router for MS Exchange online (Office 365)

Hi All,

We use CRM 2013 On-premise. I have configured the Email-Router for MS Online Exchange (Office 365). All the configuration set up went fine. It allowed me Test and it was successful.

I only have Admin user and another user at the moment, when I send an email from the Admin to the other user or to any other contact, it goes to Pending Activities, but it doesn’t’ send the email, and stay there with status “Pending Send”. It doesn’t throw any Alerts or anything just sit there without sending.

When I open the pending email, on top of the page it says “This message has not yet been submitted for delivery. For more info see help.”

Since the test access shows the configuration is all fine, I’m tuck with this.

Any ideas?

Appreciate your help.

First, did you make sure the outgoing profile for your admin is set to Email Router?  Also, did you validate the User account for email?  This will be a button on the top of the User record.

Check those first, to make sure you have closed the loop on the CRM side for the email router.

    Hi Wayne,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes I have set incoming/outgoing both to “Server-Side-Syncronisation or Email Router” on the Mail box of the Admin user.

Also, I have Approved the email on the user page, I guess this is what you mean by Validate.

Now, does it require to set up a Server Profile? (Settings-->Email Configuration -->Email Server Profiles). None of the instruction I found ask you to do this, but is it necessary to set up a Server Profile and initiate that on the Mail Box of the user just above the Incoming and outgoing email? (I tried doing this but it leads to many issues as I don't how how to set up that properly)

Server Profiles are only for Server Sync, which you're not using.  So you don't need to worry about them.

I think you might need to turn on tracing on the CRM server, try to send another email, and post the trace logs here.

    Hi Wayne,

I now have removed the Server Profile, also from the Admin mail box. Then, in the Router Configuration Manager, Users,Queues, and Forward Mail Boxes----> TEST. The incoming and outgoing both are successful. But there are three alerts, and they are about the Server Profile. I didn't have these alerts when I configured for the first time.

    Admin User

Email cannot be received because your mailbox Admin User does not have an email server profile associated with it or the email server profile is inactive. Associate an active email server profile with the mailbox, and enable the mailbox for receiving email.

    Mailbox

    Admin User

Appointments, contacts and tasks can't be synchronized for mailbox Admin User. Set the synchronization method for "Appointments, Contacts, and Tasks" to "Server-Side Synchronization" in the mailbox record and try again.

    Admin User

Email cannot be sent because your mailbox Admin User does not have an email server profile associated with it or the email server profile is inactive. Associate an active email server profile with the mailbox, and enable the mailbox for sending email.

As you suggested I will turn on trace, but I'm worried now whether I have some configuration issue here. Any idea?

    Thanks

Hmm, that might be something you will want to open a support ticket with Microsoft.  You don't happen to have some odd hotfix on the CRM system, or anything like that do you? Or maybe an ADFS/IFD setup that may not be complete?

No, I don't have any hot-fix. We are yet to set up ADFS/IFD so I don't think it has any impact on this. I might consider forwarding this to MS.

Thanks very much indeed for your time.

    Cheers!
