Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Payroll....does ANYONE know how to use it?!?!?!

Microsoft are such shysters when it comes to Dynamics AX.  They push out this software and then don't provide any How To guides or examples on how to set any of it up.  Instead they just push out this massive software and expect you to just sort of "get it".  Does anyone else struggle every single day with Microsoft not having ANY DOCUMENTATION WHATSOEVER on how to do stuff??????????????????????????   I'm trying to set up the new (and very poorly tested) payroll module and not only is there no documentation at all but not even Microsoft technical support knows how to use it!!!  TechNet gives very limited info on specific parts but I have yet to see a "How To" guide or an "Installation & Setup Guide" for setting up Payroll.  But what have I done???  Paid $280 per support ticket so Microsoft can tell me how to do the things they conveniently didn't document anywhere.  And what do they do a lot of times when you call them out on something that is so obviously a bug??  They just respond with "...that is by design'.  I'm so sick of Microsoft's bullshit.

As per my understanding of dynamics AX it is a framework and can be utilized to extend it to design and customize for any logical functionality

for Payroll module again its is framework and can be expended for any king of logical finctionality implementation

I have found following link as most conprehansive inforamtion, how to configure the payroll functioality in dynamics AX 2012 R3

    technet.microsoft.com/.../jj677365.aspx

may be you have seen it.

again I dont think existing ax Payroll functionality can implement all scenario by standard, it will require extending it with some customization

please let us know your scenario of requirement and discuss over here and see if we can help you.

Well we were able to get it implemented but it is not user friendly at all.  They over-complicate the system as if every person who uses it is going to be a Fortune 500 or something with tens of thousands of employees.  I'd say if you have to have at least 500 employees to use this software.  Anything less just use QuickBooks Payroll.

Even 500 paychecks would be a problem  if one check won't print, they all won't print,  you'd have to print them one at a time from the payroll disbursement journal, (if you have 500 checks, that means 500 pushes to print)  with EFT, I'm not sure if the file would create all payments if one was wrong, our first client didn't use EFT.

I agree, there are many 'gaps' here and the system could get out of balance because of the multiple posting process.

If the user doesn't follow the recommended path (and they go astray which they can) they will end up with records that cannot be deleted or need to voided via GL or both.
