Hi All,

I m trying to create a new Purchase Requisition and then adding a new line and then in Projects tab after assigning a Project ID when trying to assigning an Activity Number , I could see that the company has been changed , ( I mean if I am working company lets say ZA01 and when clicking the Activity lookup I can see that the company has been changed to ZA02 , I don't no how and why ?

Then When trying to create the Purchase Requisition an error pops us as below :

"The value ZA02-51928 in field 'Activity Number' is not found in the related table 'Activities'"

Please let me know what is going wrong

You need to add the legal entities in Purchase requisition permissions. you can navigate through

Procurement and sourcing → Setup → Policies → Purchase requisition permissions→ change Current view to By requester

Select user → Legal entity → add.

Please go to Procurement >> Setup >> Policies >> Purchase requisition permission and on the form filter by requester and select the requester attached to your User , now on right hand side in upper pane select/add the Legal entity you wish you create PR for and save the records.

    Happy Daxing,

    Hi Microsoft Mania,

Thats good now you need to assign the employee of company ZA-01 to user login.

Both the employee will have separate party ID. Select the employee to user which is created in ZA-01 and then try to create purchase requisition and you will not get this issue.

    Hi Microsoft Mania,

Can you specify what you understand under the term 'activity'.

In the project context that you mentioned above, I understand elements that are related to your project work breakdown structure.

However, it seems that - depending who reads this thread :-) - people can understand something different under this term.

Therefore, it would be great if you could clarify this issue.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

If the employee is applicable only to handle PR in only one entity in your case ZA01, Navigate to employee record->Employment History->End the date of employment for the entity ZA02. Than try to create a new PR.

Activity has a reference of employee as responsible field which will take active employment details.

    Thanks

RE: Company is getting changed automatically when creating new Purchase Requisition and assigning an activity number

    Hi Microsoft Mania,

    Kindly check the following

1 - Navigate to system administration > users >user id. Search the user from which you log into AX.

2- Select your user and check the employee name in the "Person" field.

3- Note the name of the employee from the person field and check this employee belongs to which company.

4- Navigate to company ZA -01 and to Payroll > Employee > search the employee

5- Navigate to company ZA -02 and to Payroll > Employee > search the employee (I suspect you should find it here)

So what it means is that you lets say Mr X is employee in company ZA -02 but has access to ZA -01 also.

Now as you login from ZA -01 and try and create a purchase requisition by adding a line AX changes the buying legal entity to ZA -02 (As you are not employee of ZA -01 so cant make purchase requisition there)

To resolve make a employee lets say Mr X1 in ZA -01 for yourself and attach this employee to your user in system administration > users >user id. Search the user from which you log into AX.

    This will resolve your issue.

    Hi Microsoft Mania,

Is it possible that you create a purchase requisition for the company in which you normally operate?

You can do this from the project module. Select the project, search for the item task and then create a new purchse requisition and ensure that it is created in 'your' company.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Microsoft Mania,

That is probably the reason why you have the problems you describe above; i.e. you are operating in a different company that has a different project, category, activity ... setup and have to make a selection of the Projects, categories, activies that are setup in the other company. If something is missing there, you need to set this up in the other company first.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
