Managing email to follow in CRM manually ( CRM For Outlook)

Hello Everybody,

We have just set up CRM for Outlook.
When any client or somebody exists in our CRM, how can we manage which email do we want to have in CRM?

We need to click on "Follow" in outlook to follow in CRM, but after that every single mail with this client will be send to CRM automatically.

But we don't want that, we prefer to have the possibility to choose which mail we want to follow in CRM with X client.

Is it possible to manage that manually?

Many thanks in advance for your help

Best regards,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi partner,

When you say "CRM For Outlook", does it refer to Dynamics 365 App for Outlook or Dynamics 365 for Outlook?

    Hi partner,

You mean that when you track an email to D365 from Outlook, all emails with this contact will be tracked automatically, right?

If so, you can disable Use correlation to track email conversations in the system settings.

Go to Settings > Email Configuration > Email Configuration Settings, uncheck Use correlation to track email conversations.

In addition, if you don't need emails to be tracked from Outlook to D365 automatically, but only track emails manually, you need to select the scope of email tracking to No email messages in your personal settings.

    Hi Lu Hao,

Many thanks for your explanation .

    It was so useful !

But I didn't understand the utility of "Use correlation to track email conversations". What is the utility? Because when I uncheck or check, the result is the same when I choose "No email messages" to track in personal settings.

Another question , if a person exists in several account (holding, sub-group etc.) and I want to see the mail for example in Holding account's timeline, how to manage it ?

For testing something simiral, for example I created 2 leads with the same email , and when I receive a mail from this email , in Outlook I would like to have the choice of to which lead I want to assign this email for tracking. I don't know if I'm clear...

    Many thanks again

    Hi partner,

Whether to track emails is ultimately determined by the tracking options in personal settings. If the tracking option in the personal settings is "No email messages", then the automatic tracking from Outlook to D365 will be disabled, regardless of whether "Use correlation to track email conversations" in the system settings is checked or not, the emails in Outlook will not be tracked to D365.

    Hi Partner,

When we track manually, and if there is multiple recepients in an email which I want to track and all these recepients(contact) exist in CRM, can I choose in which contact I would like to track , and not in all of them ?

    Example:

    Sender: Alex

    Recipient: Fernandez

    CC: Raphael, Kelly

Fernandez, Raphael and Kelly are in my CRM. But I don't want to track this mail for them, but only for Fernandez. I want to see only in Fernandez's timeline.

    Is-it possible ?

    Many thanks again,
