Management reporter how to use external worksheet linking with multicurrency rates

Does anyone have an example of using excel with Management Reporter for their currency rates?    Also, I'm  interested in best practices of how you would set up something similar to the DAX rates in FRx - CAD to USD, UK to USD, etc. - do you have examples of the MC setup in GP to accomplish this easily?

    Hello,

If you want to link to Excel for your MC information you would likely do something like the following:

Build your row format as-is. Add a WKS column for each rate type or add a single column, placing rates in different rows. Then use CAL rows to multiply each column/row by the specific rate that is being imported from the spreadsheet. Then go back and NP any row that is used in building the calculations and only print the end results.

I know some people did this for FRx reports if they were not happy with the way DAX did its calculations.

Can I ask why you aren't using currency translation in GP? Most customers have been pretty happy with how things work there, and it is much easier to maintain.

    Thanks

    Ryan
