Here is the scenario...our production team accidently forgot to applied direct labor hours to a specific job that was created a specific finished good item. In addition, they closed the job out before applying any labor so we cannot go back into it to add the hours. So, the finished good item will have no labor cost associated to that lot of finished good (we do lot tracing). Is there a way (after the job is closed) to add labor to a specific item/lot in the same time period?
You may use GL journals to do the corrections or change the inventory posting profiles for this posting.
So, this would fix the item's cost within the system, but would I have to make manual journal entries to manage/reconcile the GL side of it (? Is that why you state I have to be careful on that aspect? Would you please expand on that to help me make sure I understand the in's and out's making that type of value adjustment?

You can add cost on production order via Closing and adjustment by to adjust value . Becareful on managing the GL accounts.
