Reconcile Inventory to GL fails on GP 2015

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dynamics GP 2015 R2, trying to run the Reconciliation for Inventory to the GL. The prior year (2015) works fine, but the next year fails with:

EXCEPTION_CLASS_SCRIPT_OUT_OF_RANGE
SCRIPT_CMD_CONVERT

We are selecting 01012016 through 12312016 with a reconciliation date of today. We also tried using a different reconciliation date, but received the same result. The years prior to and subsequent to 2016 work correctly.

I ran them month-by-month for 2016, and none of them failed. Seems like just the annual reconciliation is failing, but I don't know where.

Thanks, Heather. Will give that a shot.

I have found that the GL Reconcile does not handle special characters well.  I had a customer who had an ' in their checkbook - and that would never run through GL reconcile.  I am guessing there is a . * ' " $ or something similar in one of the fields - perhaps Originating Control Number.  To narrow the issue down you can run the reconcile 01/01/2016 - 01/31/2016, then 02/01/2016 - 02/28/2016  . . . until you find the culprit month.  Then do the Inventory Transaction Smart List for the same period to see if you can locate the odd character.
