New Microsoft Service Update Release Schedule 365 Finance 2024

Hello,

I've seen the Microsoft service update frequency changes for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations take effect in 2024.

With this change, are the applications of the Proactive quality updates still valid?

In this link I only see quality packages up to version 10.0.37.

Finally Microsoft has already published the PQU release dates for version 10.0.38.

Now I have the following question, I hope you can solve it for me. We are currently on a version 10.0.34, I understand that we can wait to upgrade the system to version 10.0.38 in January 2024 since in December begins the most critical business process of the company and we can not do any update.

Hi Marina,
If you update yourself before automatic updates, you can directly use the latest version of the package. When you use the latest version, automatic updates are cancelled. If you want automatic updates, it is recommended that you use version 10.0.39 first. Version 10.0.39 is the first service update released according to the new rhythm, and will be automatically updated on this basis.
Official documentation shows that PQU builds for each train are typically released to lifecycle services after the change deadline shown in the high-level PQU train schedule below. The latest update date of this document is today, so it is currently only updated to the relevant information of version 10.0.37. Version 10.0.38 may be released at a later date. You can continue to pay attention to the change information of the official document.
Once the latest news is available, the official documentation will be updated in a timely manner. Please wait patiently.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I´m still having the following doubts:

If in February 2024, I´ll upgrade to CY24Q1: 10.0.38, which is the transation version. Is it mandatory to go to CY24Q2: 10.0.39* or can I skip it and go to CY24Q3: 10.0.40? I understand that I can go to CY24Q3: 10.0.40.

What about PQUs? On the official website I don't see package dates for version 10.0.38, it cuts off at 10.0.37.(https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/get-started/quality-updates-schedule?context=%2Fdynamics365%2Fcontext%2Fcommerce)

Hi Marina，
Yes, this does not affect your use of it.
The release date of version 10.0038 has been changed. It was originally scheduled to go online on October 13, 2023, but is now delayed to October 27, 2023. Previews and preview updates are available as deployable packages in the shared resource library of the lifecycle service. You can check it out at LCS after the 27th.
Some notable changes include:

Preview has been delayed by 2 weeks to accommodate the transition to the new version.

There is a new "Preview Update" which will incorporate customer feedback from preview builds.

Official releases of self-updates will now be released 1 month in advance.

The end of service (after the GA auto-update service window) will be extended by 119 days to give customers more time to evaluate and test updates before implementing them.
