SharePoint Server 2013 + Dynamics CRM 2013. CRM List Component - Unable to open Word documents, Images or even plain txt

Hello everyone,

I'm facing a weird issue in 32bit browsers (tested IE9+ , Firefox 29): I can't open certain types of files from the CRM Grid interface (list component) such as .docx, .txt, .pptx and many others but I can open them directly from SharePoint. The strange thing is that whenever I close and reopen the browser (not just opening a new tab/session) I can then open any kind of file, BUT after going back to the record details and going to the documents again I'm not able to open those anymore. In IE9 from the console I can see a "Out of Memory" whilst in Firefox the error is something like "Error: Error calling method on NPObject!"

Excel files and PDF are not affected by this as I can open them without any issue.

Any clue on this?

    Hi SrFabio,

Did it used to work before?

Do you have the latest version of the List Components? I can see it was updated on 28th of January:

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

I would try to reinstall the List Components first .

As a second question and recommendation:

Do you see any errors in the platform logs?

There was a known issue similar to what you are reporting and the fix was in the  Office 2013 Cumulative Update June 2013 to upgrade the OWSSUPP.DLL

    Check out this article:

    Thanks for the quick answer.

I did install the latest version today but it made no difference. As far as I'm aware the behavior was always like this for 32bit (IE9-11, Firefox), but works fine on 64bit versions.

I wasn't aware of that Office Update so I'm going to try that and I'll let you know if it fixed the issue. Thank you very much.
