Timeline control on Dashboard is not showing posts created in respective case records

Hi all,
 
I've created a dashboard which shows my open cases and added timeline control in it which is configured to show the posts. 
->So, now whenever we create a post in timeline in a /Case/ record, it's not showing in the timeline on dashboard. 
->The timeline on dashboard of a user only shows the posts that are either /created on the dashboard itself/ or /if that user gets tagged on the posts created on any case record/.
->The timeline also just shows /Auto-Posts/ that are generated only when a record is created or closed. Auto-Posts that are generated by modifying the owner or users on that created are not showed on dashboard's timeline.
 
All these are observed with me having /System Administrator/ role alone in lower environments such as dev.
 
Note: The timeline on form level is working as usual.
 
Is this the expected functionality of dashboard timeline or am i missing any configuration ?
 
But whenever we check the same functionality in higher environment, the above functionality is not happening i.e., in simple the dashboard's timeline is working same as case form timeline (all posts created in case record's timeline are showing on dashboard timeline even without tagging a user)
 
But what i expected of a timeline in dashboard is to have all the updates of our records on front page. 
 
I would be a lot more thankful if anyone help me on this dashboard timeline control. :))

    The resolution you mentioned solved the issue in lowers.
    But the exact problem is in PROD environment,
    ->Only for one user the issue is: the user has some open records, then creates posts on that record's timeline those are not populating in dashboard.
    ->But this issue is not seen for all other users, i.e., even though the user doesn't follow the records, dashboard's timeline is populating with all the posts of that user's opened case record's timeline
     
    The issue which that one user is facing is reproduceable in LOWER environments like an out-of-the-box functionality.
     
    There is no issue with user configuration like security roles or teams.
     
    So cause of this issue is not understandable.

    I am using the Customer Service trial version.
    I encountered the same issue as you in my testing.
     
    You need to follow records to display the activity and posts of the followed records.
