Missing Lot Numbers

In the process of issuing an RMA, you are asked to select the appropriate lot number(s) for the item(s) being returned.  The user selects the appropriate lot numbers and chooses for the items to be moved from the RETURNS site to WAREHOUSE. After completing the RMA, an inventory transfer trx should automatically post. But, this does not happen.  When the user looks up the unposted IV transfer trx's, nothing appears to be wrong. But when you click POST, a message appears saying that line items contain errors and that there is an issue with the lots.  So we go back into the lots window, and we try to remove the lot number and then re-insert. But, after removing the lot number, the lot number is no longer available for re-insert! For a similar IV unposted trx, in the lot number window, the lot number is available but when trying to insert the lot number at a qty of 50, it errors out saying that the quantity selected is greater than the quantity available. this is not true, however, since there are 60 units available for that lot. it looks like this might be similar to an issue of missing lots!

Maybe you are on to something richard, here's the message received when attempting to click POST

Transaction cannot be posted. Line items contain errors. a qty is not available to sell for this lot

No, it should not be an allocation issue. The amounts returned in the RMA are the same amounts that are used in the transfer transaction entry, so these should be available.

It could also be that the quantity is allocated.  with lots, if you have 60 on hand and 25 are allocated to something, you cannot issue 50 as this would create a negative allocated quantity.
